What take-home pay means
Take-home pay is gross pay minus the employee’s statutory deductions: EPF, SOCSO, EIS, SKBBK where it applies, and PCB (monthly tax). It is the figure that lands in your bank account — and the reason two people on the same gross salary can take home different amounts (different EPF, different PCB reliefs, different ages and categories).
How this page differs from the homepage: the PCBCalc.my homepage calculator is PCB-first — it answers “how much tax is deducted?” This page is take-home-first — it answers “how much do I keep?” For the detailed January tool with the same engine, see the net salary calculator; for the employer’s view of the same salary, see the payroll calculator.
Calculation scope — read before using the result
January 2026 estimate, single resident, no extra reliefs (the same methodology as the site’s take-home articles). Monthly wages RM400–RM200,000. Fixed monthly allowances entered below are included in gross pay; variable pay such as overtime, commissions and bonuses is excluded from SOCSO/EIS wages and is not modelled here. PCB is computed only for residents — for non-residents it is withheld and net pay is shown before PCB.

Why take-home pay differs from a colleague’s
Same gross salary, different take-home pay is normal: EPF bands, SOCSO/EIS categories, age, citizenship, SKBBK participation and PCB reliefs (spouse, children, TP1 claims) all move the result. The short version is in the why PCB differs from a colleague article — this calculator shows the arithmetic behind it.
The employer-cost line above is a one-line summary only (gross plus employer EPF, SOCSO, EIS). For the full employer view, use the payroll calculator.
