LINDUNG 24 Jam (SKBBK) 2026: Is It Voluntary?

Understand the 2026 PERKESO scheme, local participation and phase-one contribution.

What is LINDUNG 24 Jam?

PERKESO describes the Non-Employment Injury Scheme as protection against qualifying accidents that occur outside ordinary working duties. It is not identical to existing employment injury protection.

Local versus foreign worker status

PERKESO states the scheme is voluntary for local workers, while foreign workers remain subject to separate mandatory requirements. Do not assume the same participation rules or employer/employee contribution allocation for both categories.

Contribution illustration

In the initial phase, the published employee rate is 0.75%. With a wage ceiling of RM6,000, the illustrative upper amount is RM45 monthly. A voluntary local participant earning RM3,000 would have an indicative RM22.50 monthly contribution, subject to scheme implementation and eligibility verification. This is not a statutory payroll submission calculation.

What changes on the payslip?

If your payroll includes a SKBBK deduction, ask the employer to confirm actual enrollment, the applicable wage band and start period. PCBCalc.my does not currently incorporate optional SKBBK into its regular PCB estimator. Do not count it as part of ordinary SOCSO or EIS automatically.
